Paulista: "We have to keep going and look for victories"
Gabriel Paulista returned to the Valencia CF starting XI and took the opportunity to score one of the goals in the draw against RCD Espanyol. After the match, the central defender spoke with VCF MEDIA.
The performance
We had a good first half. In the defensive line we tried to look for passes through the middle to Cavani and Lino, finding a lot of space. In the end, we lacked finishing in front of goal. We had a lot of dangerous attacks. In the second half, we didn't start like we should have, and whilst we scored from a set piece, they immediately equalised. It's disappointing, but we have to keep going and always look for the win. We know that it's very difficult to play here, just like in every away game, but we need to have a little more experience. We're getting more of it every day and working on that, to try and get away wins -which are very important.

Away form
The last away game that we won was against Elche CF, and we can't be happy with that run. It is our obligation to win at home, but also away if we want to play in Europe next season. We have to win away from home and we're going to work to get the three points against CA Osasuna.
His own showings
I wanted to talk about me too. I received a lot of criticism and I don't like to hear it, but I try to convey that negative things can't affect us. We have to be positive within the family. Only the people around me and my family know what I suffered last season, and this year I had another injury and I hope not to have any more. I want to do my best for this club and -along with my teammates- I'm going to work to return to the highest level possible. I had a good game, not only because of the goal, and I'm happy about that. I want to continue improving and the next game will surely be better -and I will be able to help my teammates to get the three points.
